The Walkaide System is covered under some insurance policies!
In January of 2009, Medicare has issued a procedure code for the use of a removable Functional Electric Stimulator device for patients with Spinal Cord Injuries. While this is only a small step towards Medicare paying for this technology, we are very optimistic about the coming year, and hope to see more widespread coverage for patients with foot drop due to other pathologies, such as Stroke, MS and Traumatic Brain Injuries.
The Walkaide system has been covered by many private insurance companies, workmans compensation, and multiple VA Medical Centers.
